Woodson attended the Lincoln Jubilee celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of emancipation in Chicago, featuring exhibitions that highlighted African-Americans’ modern achievements. Soon after observing the hundreds of people that attended from across the nation, Dr. Woodson was influenced to accomplish more while in the spirit of honori
